Passport Info

The Clerk of the Court is only an acceptance agent, responsible for receiving and forwarding your application to the Department of State, Passport Services. US Department of State establishes the guidelines for acceptance and how the passports are processed. Should you have any questions, problems, or concerns, you must contact the appropriate Passport Office by calling toll free: 1-877-4USA-PPT (1-877-487-2778) or for TTY/TDD 1-888-874-7793. Passport Fees

First time application:

  • Effective February 1, 2004 all applicants must appear in person to apply for a passport, including minors.
    16 years of age and older is $67.00 payable to "US Dept. of State".
    15 years of age or younger is $52.00 payable to "US Dept. of State".
    The Clerk of the Circuit Court charges a separate execution fee of $30.00 payable to the "Clerk of the Circuit Court".
    Expedited service fee $60.00 payable by check or money order File search fee: $60.00
  • Passports Photos (2 required): $10.00 / 2 photos
Passport Renewal Requirements and fees

NOTE: The Clerk's Office does not process renewal by mail applications.

You qualify for renewal by mail if:

  • You can submit your most recent passport.
  • Use the same name as in the previous passport, or be able to present a certified marriage certificate or court order changing the name.
  • Your previous passport was issued on or after your 16th birthday and was issued within the past 15 years.
Passport Photos

Passport photos can be taken at Circuit Clerks office.

Instructions For Application With The Clerk Of The Circuit Court

1. Completed applicable Passport application.

2. Required for processing:

  • 2 passport photos
  • Application Fee(s)
  • Execution fee to the Clerk of the Circuit Court
  • Applicant does not sign until he/she is before the clerk
  • Proof of US citizenship (Copy of birth certificate)
  • Proof of Identification (Drivers License)
